In patients newly diagnosed with AFIB on anticoagulation does having follow-up support versus non-structured program have an affect on patient adherence and thrombus occurrence?

- Answered 24 Sep 2019 Conflict of interest declaration: None I'm wondering if this question is asking about the effectiveness of anticoagulation clinics versus usual care!? For instance there are papers like "Cost-Effectiveness of Warfarin Medication Therapy Adherence Clinic versus Usual Medical Clinic at Kuala Lumpur Hospital" which report that the clinic was more cost-effective than usual care. In dabigatran it was found that there was no difference between usual care and the anticoagulation clinic . Interestingly much of the literature relates to self-management (not sure if that's an issue with the Q) and variants of that such as [3, 4, 5] With greater clarity around the Q I will hopefully be able to dig out more useful evidence.
