- Answered 15 Dec 2019 Conflict of interest declaration: None There was not much out there that I could find! What I did find tended to be small scale which affects the reliability. I did this search on PubMed https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/?term=%22Diet%22%5BMajr%5D+AND+%22platelet+count%22&size=10 which returned 59 results. Of these there were a number that looked pertinent: Adherence to the Mediterranean Diet Is Associated With Lower Platelet and Leukocyte Counts: Results From the Moli-sani Study , the title tells the story. The Effects of Fish Supplementation of Platelet Function, Count and Metabolism in Healthy Japanese reports Platelet counts decreased and the mean platelet volume increased during fish supplementation. This was a very small study! Impact of Fasting on Complete Blood Count Assayed in Capillary Blood Samples states The red blood cell count, hemoglobin concentration, hematocrit level, and platelet count decreased 2 hours after meal consumption , again a fairly small study. “The Impact of Ramadan Fasting Period on Total and Differential White Blood Cells, Haematological Indices, Inflammatory Biomarker, Respiratory Symptoms and Pulmonary Function Tests of Healthy and Asthmatic Patients” reports …but platelet count was reduced in asthmatic and controls respectively compared to pre-Ramadan fasting period There may be other equally relevant so best browse through the initial search!
